We are now seeking an experienced secretary to support the Board of Trustees, in a voluntary capacity. Indeed, the Board of Trustees are themselves all volunteers.

The role will involve collating and distributing (via Royal Mail/E-mail) notes and reports for Board meetings, taking minutes, typing and circulating them and providing secretarial support to the Chair. You will also be responsible for filing returns and changes to the Board with Companies House.

All Aboard!! Fantastic Partnership with Retro Railtours

Fancy a great day out and help to raise money for The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust at the same time? We are very pleased to have been chosen by Retro Railtours as their charity to support. Their first excursion on Saturday 30th August 2008 will leave Huddersfield early morning for a day trip to Edinburgh.

The special train travels out via the West Coast and returns via the main East Coast main line – a very picturesque journey. For the train enthusiasts amongst you, the train will be hauled by a heritage diesel ‘Deltic’ locomotive. And Edinburgh is a lovely city with so much to see and do when you get there.

What a great way to spend a Summer Saturday, for day-trippers and rail enthusiasts alike. Money from ticket sales and a raffle on board will help us to speed towards our goal.

We got it...

5th July 2007 was the most memorable date in our history so far! This was the date that our planning application for a site of land located off Fell Greave Road, Brackenhall, Huddersfield was finally approved by Kirklees Council!

To everyone who worked quietly and tirelessly through the months of setbacks and uncertainties to reach this important milestone; to everyone who phoned or wrote offering words of support; to the companies who spent so much time on compiling our application; to everyone who carried on fundraising, donating and kept faith: we say ‘thank you’. You all got us through the bad days and down days and without you we simply would not be here.

Now, as the hard work and fundraising moves on a stage and our dream starts to become a reality, we ask that you continue working with us and together we will see our children’s hospice built.

The latest plans for the hospice building are now available: see an impression below.

A “lot extra” from the Halifax

Their saying is 'a little extra' but in fact, for our charity – HBOS most certainly give a 'lot extra' to us. Over the years, they have saved the Trust thousands of pounds in many ways.

Our gratitude to them is immeasurable – their assistance with paying for the postage on our mailshots helps make a real difference to our success and we truly appreciate the support we receive.
